Electronics

The Traxxas Slash 4X4 VXL is powered by a Velineon® 3500kV Sensorless brushless motor and a waterproof VXL-3s™ Electronic Speed Control (ESC). This potent combination delivers blistering speeds of over 60+ mph, making it a thrill on any terrain. The VXL-3s ESC is equipped with three programmable drive modes—Sport Mode, Race Mode, and Training Mode—allowing users to customize performance for different skill levels or driving environments. With built-in low-voltage detection, the VXL-3s is fully compatible with LiPo batteries, ensuring long-lasting power for extended run times. The motor’s ultra high-temperature Neodymium magnets and precision-balanced rotor provide superior durability and performance, making the Slash a reliable, high-powered machine that’s easy to maintain.

Design

The Slash 4X4’s innovative modular chassis design offers superior stability with its long 12.75-inch wheelbase and interlocking components for ultimate toughness. The unique clipless body mounting system revolutionizes ease-of-use with no posts or clips—simply snap the body into place for a secure fit, and release it quickly with hidden latches under the wheel wells when you need to access the chassis. This clean and efficient design not only enhances the Slash’s rugged aesthetics but also prevents common issues like clip breakage. The replica BFGoodrich® Mud-Terrain T/A® tires mounted on Split-Spoke SCT wheels offer excellent grip on dirt, sand, or pavement, while adding to the scale realism with their aggressive tread and licensed branding.

Drivetrain & Suspension

At the heart of the Slash 4X4 is its robust, full-time shaft-driven 4WD system, designed to handle high-torque brushless power with ease. The factory-installed Extreme Heavy Duty Upgrade Kit further enhances durability with Maxx-duty® driveshafts, oversized steel axles, and heavy-duty suspension arms that can withstand brutal impacts and rough driving conditions. The steel-gear front and rear differentials are sealed and tunable, allowing for smooth power distribution across all four wheels. Reinforced shock towers and C-hubs complement the Slash’s tough-as-nails design, making it one of the strongest drivetrains ever built into a short course truck.
